Kaua’i is not called the Garden Isle for nothing. We do get lots of rain, but it's actually much rarer than you would expect that sessions need to be cancelled from the weather. The rain showers pass by quickly, and our weather reports are not very accurate, so don’t worry about it too much ahead of time. Surprisingly it's often the stormy days that produce some of the most stunning images, plus if there’s rain we might just get a stunning rainbow. If the weather is completely stormy, I will make a final decision the night before or even the day of, just in case it clears for us. If it looks like rain but your family is up for stomping in puddles, dancing in the rain and clear umbrellas, then so am I!

Absolutely! If you have a spot in mind, wonderful, as long as its a spot we can get a photo permit for (which most places we can).

I will always try to work with you to find another day that I'm available if you need to reschedule. The session fee is non-refundable so if you do need to cancel you can use your session fee for another time, and you will only need to pay the remaining balance on the day of your rescheduled session.

The choice between sunrise and sunset can greatly impact the colors and ambiance of the location. Whether you prefer the soft wrap-around colors, or the direct golden glow of the sunrise or sunset greatly depends on the time and location, and both are undeniably stunning.

• Sunrise brings a sense of tranquility with its empty beaches and convenient parking.
• Sunset also offers beautiful colors but can be busier and can pose parking challenges for some locations.

You choose your package choice of how many images you will receive. You can always upgrade later as well to include more images. I send a proof gallery to you where you get to choose your favorite images for your final gallery.

Yes! Definitely. I love to end sessions with some shots in the water (conditions permitting). Some locations work better for water shots, so let me know if that's something you're up for.

I will edit your photos for color and style as I see fit and I may remove a blemish or cut here and there. I also will remove people from the background if that is needed. But I will not alter anyone's body, or do any other kind of extensive editing unless specifically asked and I will charge an additional editing fee in that case, as it is not part of my usual process.

Although it is not necessary, you will never regret getting your hair and makeup professionally done. I highly recommend Glam by Misti & Styles Studio Hanalei for this! If you are going to do your own, matte colors photograph best in natural light. I also love when hair is left down and wavy.

Sure. I’m always happy to draw inspiration from shots you love, but please know it's not always possible to fully recreate them, but not to worry. I love to come up with fun things for your family to do and help you to feel comfortable together. That will produce the best photos, I promise.
